I should say 'can be quite moody' but in general- never with people/fans who come up to talk to him.

Yeah, he is on the whole from the times I've spoken to him. Quite moody and with a lot of demons, though, which is a shame.

Actually when I was a teenager a mate and I went down to a venue they were playing in during the day to see if I could meet them and they just let us stick around all afternoon. Really good blokes, each of them. They actually let me play a song with them during the soundcheck. Absolutely incredible feeling.

Why EMG passives? Clearly most who choose them go for the active alternatives?

I've got one on mine (Kahler) - not that the guitar is the real thing but is a mid 80s Japanese copy (and a very good one at that).
I also defiled it with high output passive EMG pickups - the guitar sounds huge now.

And only two pick ups on that Les Paul?

What was Mr Gibson thinking?

Surely a whammy on your Les Paul is only acceptable if your name is Alex Lifeson or Steve Hackett? :)

Exactly! They are fucking cool guitars though. Frontman of my favourite band used to use one, all busted up and covered in stickers. Auctioned it off for charity but I think it went for 25 grand.

I also have a 2005 USA Telecaster (Apple red). Never gigged. Barely touched. Looks as new pretty much. Not sure where to sell.

What colour is it? And do you know which year? I've genuinely been looking for one of those for a long time, although i expect you may want more for it than I could pay.

I've got a Fender Tele Thinline that I have hardly ever used. Was in a bad 10-15 years ago, but we broke up just after I bought it, I've always preferred acoustic so it's just sitting in its case. Thinking of possibly selling it, and putting the cash towards a decent acoustic, but not sure of the best way to go about selling? I'd be a bit nervous of auction as I would only really want to sell at a good price.

I still have an unused Gibson Les Paul 25/50 anniversary. Still in the original case and only taken a few times. I kept it from the day they were issued.
Have plenty of others, that I do play, but they are mainly acoustics. 2 Martins, 2 Breedloves, a Takamini and a couple of Yamahas.

Spent a while perusing the content. Fancy a Martin 000-28 new they are bucks, wary about second hand acoustics.

£8K! Can't imagine what that would be worth now?

Mind you, a guitar like that needs a museum, bit like this fella did with his...
